Yes, that was indeed my allusion and I’ll be damned if I pay for GD television! So when they make the switch if you don’t have a digital cable provider you’re s.o.l., is that it? Isn’t that what the advertising is for? Bah. And what’s with the corporate ads in the guise of “sponsorship” on PBS & NPR? Jeff no like – bad medicine.

I am sure you have probably heard of these coupon vouchers by now, but in case you haven’t: the government is offering vouchers for households with tv sets using antennas for a converter box once television switches to digital broadcasting. I am not sure if that was the problem you were alluding to with your “soon-to-be gone” comment or not, but i figured it might help.

(To request a coupon, consumers can apply online at http://www.dtv2009.gov. The government also has set up a 24-hour hotline to take requests, 1-888-DTV-2009 (1-888-388-2009). )

Thanks for the link – I hadn’t seen that one… We just watched Letterman (briefly) the other night and it was hard to imagine him so young, particularly through the beard (and the static from our soon-to-be gone rabbit ear reception)…
